The Project

“Textile” @ House of Ezis, Fortitude Valley

The event was hosted at House of Ezis, a Brisbane-based custom-made evening & bridal gown label with a boutique in Fortitude Valley. This time around we learned about innovative resources for manufacturing textiles, but also about contemporary / ethical ways of making and selling fashion.

Speakers of the night:

Edda Hamar – an absolute superstar in the sustainable fashion industry - founder of “Undress Runways”, “The Naked Mag” and ethical fashion label “Lána” / As an advocate for positive progress and ethical standards she hopes to improve transparency in the industry and help people have a healthier, more sustainable relationship with fashion.

Andrzej Pytel – owner and founder of “House of Ezis” / Andrzej was originally trained as an architect before he set his sight on the world of fashion starting one of Australia’s most artistic and exciting fashion labels.

Ronny Matzat – creative superhero and founder of “DSGNK” as well as co-founder of “Biolastics” / One of only a few young designers who intuitively and holistically designs with environmental principles and knowledge resulting in innovative solutions. He provided insight into his pioneering work of using textile glass for wall coverings as well as bioplastics for fashion items.
