GBI WINS INNOVATION OF THE YEAR AWARD

We are stoked and proud to announce that the Green Building Online College by the Green Building Institute (GBI) won the Innovation of the Year award at the 2016 Sustainability Awards hosted by Architecture & Design Magazine last week. In its tenth year, the Sustainability Awards recognises environmentally sustainable building and design initiatives that go ‘beyond the tick-a-box approach’.

On the Green Building Online College, the expert judges notes: “While there is no shortage of courses out there, online learning is set to become an essential part of moving the industry towards better quality and sustainable communities. The necessity is to now ensure people are taking these courses and utilising this type of learning in their organisations. Anything this awards program can do to support this initiative should be taken as it has serious potential to make an impact on the industry.”

This award really came as a surprise to the team of the GBI, but receiving it is a huge recognition that the Green Building Online College has a massive potential in improving the way we design and build in Australia and globally. We at the GBI believe in the power of online education and this award gives us the extra motivation to create more courses and to make sustainable building knowledge available to anybody, anywhere and anytime.
